Catherine Anne O'Hara OOC was born March 4 1954. O'Hara has been the recipient of several awards, including a Genie Award, a Golden Globe Award as well as two Screen Actors Guild Awards, two Primetime Emmy Awards, and six Canadian Screen Awards. In 2018, she was appointed an Officer of Canada. She was also awarded the Governor General’s Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement Medal in 2020. O'Hara was first noticed as an actor in the year 1974 when she was an actor in The Second City improvisational comedy troupe in Toronto. She was part of the main cast on the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978) alongside John Candy and Dan Aykroyd. O'Hara, Candy, and Dan Aykroyd first began working on Second City Television's sketch comedy program (1976-1984). O'Hara received critical acclaim for her comedic acting and writing abilities and was awarded the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writer for a Variety Series in 1982. O'Hara was part of the newly formed Second City artistic Advisory Board and was led by Stephen Colbert. Other members of the board included Dwayne Colbert. Tina Fey. Keegan–Michael Key.
